Sticky braised beef cheeks
Slow cooking and Asian flavours creates the most amazingly tender and tasty dish.

What do I need?
- 1kg beef cheeks
- 1 orange
- 3 cloves garlic, sliced
- 2 spring onions, cut into 2 centimetre long pieces
- 5 centimetre piece of ginger, sliced
- ½ cup Shaoxing (Chinese cooking wine)
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Fresh coriander to serve
- 1 small birdseye chilli, to serve
How do I make it?
- Peel thick strips of zest from the orange and add to a slow cooker or ovenproof casserole dish.
- Add all ingredients except the beef cheeks and stir to combine.
- Add beef cheeks and stir to cover with sauce.
- Cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or until the meat is tender.
- Serve beef cheeks with sauce drizzled over top and garnished with coriander and chilli.
