The Ultimate Rib-Eye Steak
Trust us, once you’ve tried the rib-eye cooking technique in this recipe you’ll be in love. Forget the barbecue, forget the grill pan, this one’s going in the oven. The result is a steak that is juicy, tender and flavoursome.

What do I need?
- 2 rib eye steaks
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tsp paprika
- 2 tsp garlic salt
How do I make it?
- In a small bowl mix salt, pepper, paprika and garlic salt. Set aside.
- Pat rib eyes with paper towel to remove as much moisture as possible.
- Sprinkle seasoning mix over both sides of each rib eye.
- Heat oven to 190C.
- Heat an oven-proof frying pan on the stovetop on medium-high heat. Sear the rib eye for 2 minutes per side. Place the pan in the oven and cook for 3 minutes, then turn the oven off. Leave steaks in the oven to cook in the residual heat for a further 8 to 10 minutes.
- Remove rib eyes from the oven and cover with foil to allow to rest for 15 minutes.
- Serve with fresh vegetables of your choice.
