Corned Beef
Corned Beef is a staple in the cooler months. Here’s our recipe for deliciously tender and tasty meat

What do I need?
- 1 ½ kg corned beef silverside
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 3 tbsp white vinegar
- 2 bay leaves
- 4 cloves
- 10 black peppercorns
- 6 pickling onions, peeled
- Water, to cover
How do I make it?
- Add all ingredients to a large saucepan and cover with cold water.
- Bring to the boil, then reduce heat to bring to a gentle simmer. Cook, covered for 90 minutes, or until the beef is firm.
- Remove beef from poaching liquid and set aside to rest while you remove the onions with a slotted spoon.
- Slice beef and serve with onions and other vegetables of your choice.
