Chocolate Self-Saucing Pudding
Get a little saucy with this indulgent Chocolate Self-Saucing Pudding. It’s easy to make and even easier to eat. Serve with cream, ice cream, or go all out and have both!

What do I need?
For the pudding
- 150 g plain flour
- 2 ½ tsp baking powder
- 70 g caster sugar
- 30 g cocoa powder
- Pinch of salt
- 125 mL milk
- 50 g butter, melted
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Sauce
- 175 g brown sugar
- 30 g cocoa powder
- 320 mL boiling water
How do I make it?
- Preheat oven to 180C.
- Grease a 1 litre baking dish with a little butter.
- Add flour, baking powder, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt to a mixing bowl. Add milk, butter, egg, and vanilla and stir to combine into a batter. Pour batter into prepared baking dish.
- Combine brown sugar and cocoa powder together in a small bowl, then sprinkle evenly over the top of the batter.
- Pour boiling water evenly over the top of the pudding and bake for 25 minutes or until the top of the cake springs back when touched. Remove from oven and serve immediately.
