Christmas Moonshine
Festive flavours are front and centre in this infused vodka. It needs time for the flavours to develop so start making it at least a week before you intend to gift it. Best served chilled, either from the fridge or over ice.

What’s the serving size?
Makes approximately 700 mL
What do I need?
- 300 g mixed dried fruit
- 100 g mixed dried peel
- 5-centimetre piece of ginger, peeled and finely chopped
- 75 g caster sugar
- 2 vanilla pods
- 1 tsp whole cloves
- Zest of 1 orange, grated
- Zest of 1 lemon, grated
- 750 mL vodka
How do I make it?
- Split vanilla pods so that they are open and seeds are exposed.
- Add all ingredients to a large jug or bowl and stir to mix. Cover and refrigerate for 3 days.
- Line a sieve with muslin and strain the vodka mix into a clean jug.
- Pour into sterilised bottles and seal. Store in a cool, dark place.
TOP TIPS
- Sterilise bottles by heating in a 190C oven for 5 minutes.
- Label bottles with the date it was made and store for up to 6 months.
