1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
½ cup unsalted butter, cut into cubes
¾ cup milk
1 cup tasty cheddar cheese, grated
1/3 cup ham, chopped
2 tbsp chives, finely chopped
How do I make it?
Preheat oven to 220C. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, garlic powder and salt in a large bowl. Add butter and use your fingers to work the butter into the dry ingredients until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
Stir in milk, cheese, ham and chives using a knife until a dough forms.
Lightly flour a work surface and turn the dough out. Knead until it comes together and then roll out into a circle about 20 centimetres round. Cut circle into 8 wedges and place the wedges onto the baking tray.
