Green Beans Almondine

What do I need?
- 1 small red onion, sliced
- 3 tbsp salted butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1kg green beans
- 1 tsp salt to taste
- ½ tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp lemon zest
- 1/3 cup almonds, roughly chopped
How do I make it?
- In a large frying pan, heat butter and olive oil over medium-low heat. Once melted, add sliced red onion. Sauté for 8-12 minutes or until soft and caramelized. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- While onion is cooking, bring a large saucepan of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Drain beans and add to frying pan. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- To serve, place beans on a platter and top with lemon zest and almonds.
