Frozen Watermelon Margaritas

An ideal addition to your cocktail repertoire, these frozen margaritas are fabulously refreshing and with next week’s public holiday it’s the perfect time to give them a try. For an added flourish, you can salt the rim of the glasses and garnish with a wedge of watermelon.

2 hours freezing time plus 10 minutes to make

What’s the serving size?

Serves 4


What do I need?

  • 4 cups watermelon, chopped
  • ¼ cup lime juice
  • ½ cup tequila
  • ¼ cup triple sec
  • Watermelon wedges for garnish, optional
  • Salt for garnish, optional

How do I make it?

  1. Chop watermelon into rough cubes and place in the freezer overnight or for at least 2 hours.
  2. Blend frozen watermelon with lime juice, tequila and triple sec until smooth.
  3. Pour into glasses and garnish if desired
