Fresh peach chutney

A wonderful condiment for ham, turkey or in sandwiches.

How long will it take?

40 minutes

What do I need?

  • 1kg yellow peaches, peeled
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 5cm piece of fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • 1/2 cup malt vinegar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 tbs sweet chilli sauce

How do I make it?

  1. Cut the peaches in half. Remove the stones and roughly chop the flesh.
  2. Combine peaches, onion, garlic, ginger, vinegar, sugar and sweet chilli in a 3 litre capacity saucepan. Cook on a low heat for 25-30 minutes or until chutney is thick.
  3. Spoon the hot chutney into hot sterilized jars and seal. Refridgerate after opening.
  4. Serve with ham or turkey, or use on sandwiches.
