Warm Green Bean Salad

This quick and tasty side only takes a few minutes to prepare and is a great accompaniment to beef, lamb, chicken, and fish.

What do I need?

  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2-centimetre piece of ginger, minced
  • 500 g green beans, ends trimmed
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp white sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp black sesame seeds
  • ½ cup grated carrot
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of freshly ground black pepper

How do I make it?

  1. Heat sesame oil and olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and ginger and sauté for 30 seconds, stirring continuously. Add beans and cook for 1 minute before adding water and soy sauce. Stir to combine ingredients, then cover and cook for 2 minutes. Remove cover and stir, then cover again and cook for a further 1 minute.
  3. Remove pan from the heat and add sesame seeds and carrot and stir. Season with salt and pepper and serve warm.
