It doesn’t matter how ripe they are, there’s always a great way to eat Australian bananas. Here’s our tips on how to use bananas at all stages of ripeness:
Green - add them to salads.
Yellow - the perfect portable snack just as they are or you can use them in smoothies and juices. Try an old fashioned banana milkshake by combining 2 bananas cut into pieces with 500ml of milk, 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence and 2 tablespoons of honey in a high speed blender until thick and smooth. For an extra flavour hit sprinkle with nutmeg before serving.
Starting to turn brown - use them to bake delicious treats.
Black - Don’t toss those black bananas because they are delicious on the BBQ.
