Just in – Mandarins

Cooler days are ahead with the arrival of mandarins in all our stores
To us, the arrival of mandarins in store signals the changing of the seasons. Stone fruit are gone until next summer, new season’s apples have arrived and mandarins come next.
Perfect in a lunchbox, the first mandarins to hit the stores are Imperials. Developed in Australia, the Imperial mandarin is prized for its easy-to-peel skin and vibrant, juicy flesh. It easily segments and is seedless. Imperials are an early variety, first ripening in April and continuing right thorough the mandarin season, which extends to October.
Rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, these mandarins provide a perfectly timed boost to your immunity as the weather cools.
We love mandarins as they come, fresh and juicy. Their delicate flavour is also delicious in baking. Try your hand at this Citrus Curd Layer Cake, this Fluffy Mandarin Cake, or this Sour Cream Custard Cake – any of these would be great for Mother’s Day afternoon tea!
