This week we talked with Al, our Executive Chef at Hill Street Kitchen, who has been with Hill Street since November 2023. We had a chat with him and discovered a little bit more about him and also this years' Christmas food offerings from the Hill Street Kitchen and Wursthaus!

When no one is watching I like to… Play games with my daughters

My favourite place is … I have three. My man cave, my EH Holden and sailing my boat with my daughters

What’s the best thing about working at Hill Street? We are one big family, in our own location as well as through the group.

What is your secret skill? I can recite Pi to 10 decimal places

What is your favourite food? Pho. I love the simplicity yet sophisticated flavour. I always feel satisfied and nourished after eating it.

You’re our Executive Chef here at Hill Street, what can you tell us about this year’s festive food offerings?

This year we have refreshed the Hill Street favourites as well as created some new classics. I am excited to help provide a fantastic feast for your family for Christmas 2024.

Do you have any favourite dishes you’re excited about? 

One of the new standouts this year is our Whole Roasted Cauliflower marinated in Middle Eastern spices, perfectly accompanied with a creamy tahini sauce.

This dish can become a centrepiece or a new side dish to your Christmas roast. The dish is naturally gluten free and vegan so you won’t leave anyone out this Christmas.
