Two foods to freeze before you go away on holidays … holiday helper

There’s nothing quite like a relaxing holiday, especially if you’ve escaped the Tasmanian winter for warmer weather and a good dose of vitamin D. But if you’re arriving home late at night from your trip, you’re unlikely to be able to pick up anything from the shops for tomorrow’s breakfast.  Want to know a clever hack?

Before you go away, freeze a one litre carton of milk, and a loaf of sliced bread.  Yes, you can safely freeze bread and milk for up to 3 months. When you get home, put the milk in the fridge and the bread on the kitchen bench to defrost. When you wake up hungry in the morning, you’ll be able to have some toast and a cup of tea or coffee with milk.
