How to stop your plastic storage containers from staining … kitchen helper
Have you ever stored leftovers in a plastic container in the fridge, to find that the container is stained - and normal washing doesn’t really remove the stain? This sometimes happens with highly-coloured dishes containing tomatoes or turmeric.
To stop this happening, pour a teaspoon of oil into the container and wipe around the inside with a paper towel, leaving a thin coating of oil. This will act as a barrier and prevent the food staining the container.
