How to stop your garbage bin smelling bad … kitchen helper
I think we can all agree that there’s nothing as gag inducing as a garbage bin that has developed a revolting smell. The bin is the perfect breeding ground for foul odours when you think about all the stuff that gets dumped in there. But guess what? We’ve got a couple of tips that will keep your bin smelling as fresh as a daisy; ok maybe not a daisy but certainly better than a funky rotting food smell!
If you haven’t given your bin a good clean for a while, then this step one. Give it a good thorough wash out with a mixture of 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to 1 litre of water. Now that you’ve got a nice clean bin, try sprinkling a little bit of bicarbonate of soda into the base of every garbage bag when you put it in the bin. The bicarb will help to absorb smells and keep odours at bay.
