How to skim the fat … kitchen helper

 

We don’t know about you but for us one of those really “eww” moments in the kitchen comes when it’s time to skim the excess fat from stocks, stews and sauces. There’s something just unpleasant about it. But as always we’re here to make your life easier so we’ve got this useful tip for you to get that skimming job done faster and easier.

 

You’ll need a few ice cubes wrapped in paper towel, a clean tea towel or a piece of muslin. Skim the wrapped ice cubes along the surface of the liquid. The ice will help the fat solidify, making it much easier for you to remove with a spoon.
