Drinking glasses stuck together? Most commonly this happens when they are stacked together straight after being washed or coming out of the dishwasher. Because glass expands when it is heated, stacking warm glasses can result in them sticking together. Never fear we have a trick to separate them that doesn’t involve wrestling with them and risking breakages.
To fix the problem of stuck glasses you need to expand the outside glass so that it will release from the inside glass. To do this, fill the inside glass with cold water and then place the bottom of the outside glass in a few centimetres of hot water in the sink. Wait a minute or so, and then the glasses will come apart easily.
To avoid stuck glasses in the future, always allow glasses to cool before stacking them.
