How to remove the silk from corn … kitchen helper
Golden, buttery corn … is there anything better? We love it but there’s one thing that can ruin the love and that’s those pesky silk strands. Here’s how to remove it quickly so you can get on with enjoying eating your corn.
Start by peeling away the cob’s tough outer leaves. Then grab the silky tassel on the top of the corn with a handful of green leaves and pull from top to bottom in one firm motion. This should remove most of the silk but if there is any left you can repeat until most of it is gone. Then use a small, clean brush (vegetable brush or even a clean toothbrush) to remove the remaining silk.
