How to mince garlic … kitchen helper

Garlic is an integral ingredient in many recipes, and often a recipe will call for minced garlic. Sure, you can buy already minced garlic in a jar but it is super easy to mince garlic at home. Let’s look at a couple of the best ways to do it.

If you’ve got a garlic press then you’re one squeeze away from freshly minced garlic. Simply pop garlic cloves in the press and squeeze and you’ll have minced garlic in no time. An added bonus of using a garlic press is that you don’t need to peel the garlic cloves before mincing.

Another method is to mince garlic using a knife. Use a chef’s knife and cut lengthwise through a peeled garlic clove, then cut across these strips to make tiny pieces or a mince of garlic.

A zester or microplane can be used to make minced garlic. Simply rub peeled garlic cloves over the microplane to create minced garlic.
