Spring has sprung and that means now is the perfect time for a spring clean. There’s something incredibly satisfying about having a tidy and well-organised home, plus it makes it so much easier to find things. One of the areas where good organisation can make a tremendous difference is your pantry. We’ve got three simple ideas that will help to make your pantry better organised.

1.       Clear jars and storage bins.

Being able to see what’s inside is a total timesaver. Glass jars are ideal for storing everything from pasta to flour and best of all, you don’t have to spend a lot (or any) money on them. Start saving jars and ask your friends and family to give you theirs; you’ll be surprised how quickly you build up a collection. Make sure you give them a really thorough clean and then you’re good to go. If you need extras or different sizes, purchasing preserving jars is a great option.

2.       Labels

Labelling will change your life; ok maybe not your life, but it will definitely make it much easier to find things, and importantly, ensure that everything is returned to the right place. Pop a permanent sticker on jars that are always going to be used for the same items or choose a chalkboard or dry erase sticker if you think you might be changing the contents of your jars from time to time. You can also label shelves in your pantry so you (and the rest of the family) know where everything belongs.

3.       Lazy Susans

If you want to maximise space in your pantry and keep everything easily accessible then a Lazy Susan or pantry turntable is the answer. Buy several and group things together like all your oils on one and all your sauces on another. Best of all nothing will get lost and forgotten in the back of the pantry because with a little spin, everything is easily and quickly seen.
