How to create a custom dip … kitchen helper
With the footy finals just around the corner, not to mention summer and dare-we-say-it Christmas, it’s time to get entertaining. If you’re looking for a quick and easy starter you can’t go past store-bought dips but they can look a bit boring. But we’ve got a few ideas that will make that store-bought dip look so good that your friends will think you’ve made it yourself.
You can add extra ingredients either as a garnish or mixed through to customise your dip. Try a little lemon or lime juice, some freshly chopped herbs, seeds, nuts, chickpeas, chilli, smoked paprika or pomegranate arils. Pile on some crudités; think celery sticks, carrot sticks, cauliflower florets, green beans or asparagus spears and you’ve got a seriously good-looking dip. Finish with a drizzle of olive oil for a lovely gloss and voila you’re done!
