Authentic pizzeria and pasta restaurant 400 Gradi has a cult following, with restaurants across Melbourne, including a restaurant in Crown Casino and even one in Dallas, Texas. The brainchild of passionate chef Johnny Di Francesco, 400 Gradi recreates the tastes of Italy with its strict adherence to the guidelines of the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN) – the world authority on the traditional Neapolitan pizza. Johnny was the first Australian inducted into the AVPN and his passion for authentic Italian food shines through all his dishes. Now – very excitingly for those of us who can’t get to a 400 Gradi restaurant often – Johnny’s most well-known dishes are available at Hill Street.
This includes Johhny’s Margherita Verace, awarded the world’s best pizza. It’s topped with San Marzano tomato, fior di latte cheese, basil and extra virgin olive oil.
We stock the largest ranges of 400 Gradi products at Hill Street Devonport in the north and Hill Street Sandy Bay in the south. Check with other Hill Street stores as we don’t carry the full range in all stores, but they can be ordered with a little notice.
Along with their traditional Neapolitan-style pizzas, we also stock arancini, eggplant parmigiana, spinach and ricotta cannelloni, and beef lasagnes. These are excellent ready-to-eat meal solutions for busy weeknights. 400 Gradi’s fresh pasta range includes spaghetti and tagliatelle. Top with their ready-made Bolognese or Amatricia sauce and dinner is done. The very elusive but delicious Napoli and Truffle Mushroom pasta sauces are stocked at Devonport when we can get them, so check with the store or place an order.
And to elevate your footy final celebrations beyond the traditional meat pie and sauce, we are offering two 11-inch 400 Gradi pizzas for $24, normally $14.85 each, or one for $12.95.
