Tell me all about… Pink Ling

Tell me all about pink ling - 4.9.19.jpg

Pink ling have eel-like bodies with pinkish mottled scales making them easily identifiable. They can grow up to 1 metre in length and can weigh up to 20 kilograms but are more commonly found at around 3-4 kilograms. Our cold Tassie waters provide a perfect habitat for pink ling.

They produce large, firm white-fleshed fillets that hold their shape during cooking and have a mild (not very “fishy”) taste. Tender when cooked to perfection, pink ling fillets are well suited to grilling, barbecuing and frying and their moist flesh works well in patties and in home-made crumbed fish nuggets.
