Here’s a clever hack to stop wasting wine

Say you crack open a nice bottle of wine to have with dinner, and don’t drink all of it?

Or you need 250mL of wine for the dish you’re cooking and don’t want to open and possibly waste a whole bottle.

Yes, there are fancy vacuum sealing systems which can save the wine so it can be enjoyed over the next night or two. But if you don’t have one of these, the wine may ultimately end up down the sink.

Here’s a great hack for saving your wine for cooking: freeze it in ice cube trays. This keeps half-used wine bottles from accumulating on your kitchen bench and portions the wine into small useable amounts.

Once the wine cubes are frozen, tip them into a Ziplock bag and you’ll always have a dash of wine to add to your cooking, and no need to open a whole bottle.
