At Hill Street we believe that being part of the community brings with it a responsibility to help others within the community. This year we are inviting you to join us in making a difference in the Tasmanian community and together we believe we can make a big impact.

How you can help

Our annual Christmas magazine is usually free of charge to all customers. This year we are asking you to pay $2 for the magazine and we will donate all funds raised to two charities doing incredible work in Tasmania.

About the charities

Loaves and Fishes

Loaves and Fishes is Tasmania’s free statewide emergency food relief provider. They rescue and redistribute surplus and donated food to supply food to more than 220 community partners as ready-to-eat meals, school breakfast supplies, made-to-order food hampers and fresh fruit and vegetables. Hill Street currently donates food to Loaves and Fishes to assist them meet the growing demand for their assistance.

Australian Childhood Foundation

Hill Street has been a proud supporter of the Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF) for a number of years. ACF works tirelessly to give support to children and families through times of uncertainty and crisis. They are dedicated to the recovery and healing of children traumatised by abuse, neglect and family violence. They provide counselling, research, advocacy, education and training to make children safer and their trauma team works with children, families, carers and support professionals throughout Australia, including in Tasmania.

How will the donations help?

Working together we can effect real change. The more magazines we sell, the more money we can raise and the greater impact we can all make together. For example:

Every $500 that we raise for Loaves and Fishes will help feed 1000 Tasmanians in need this Christmas.

Every $250 that we raise for ACF will provide a one-on-one therapeutic counselling session with a specialist therapist, for a child who has been deeply traumatised and subjected to family violence.

Christmas magazines are available now at all Hill Street stores.
