How you can bring a little joy … this Christmas

How you can bring a little joy … this Christmas2.jpg

After another tumultuous year, we’re very much looking forward to Christmas. And as shocking as this seems, it is only 55 days away! We’re busily putting the final touches on our Christmas preparations at Hill Street including our Festive Food Order Form and our Christmas magazine which will be available in-store from 1 November.

This year’s Christmas magazine features 160 pages of recipes and inspiration for your Christmas festivities. Our annual Christmas magazine is usually free of charge to all customers, however this year we are asking you to pay $2 for the magazine and we will donate 100% of funds raised from the sale of the magazine to two charities who are doing incredible work in Tasmania.

Where will the money raised go?

We have chosen the Australian Childhood Foundation and Loaves and Fishes Tasmania to be the recipients of all funds raised from the sale of this year’s Christmas magazine.

Australian Childhood Foundation

Hill Street has been a proud supporter of the Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF) for a number of years. ACF works tirelessly to give support to children and families through times of uncertainty and crisis. They are dedicated to the recovery and healing of children traumatised by abuse, neglect and family violence. They provide counselling, research, advocacy, education and training to make children safer and their trauma team works with children, families, carers and support professionals throughout Australia, including in Tasmania.

Loaves and Fishes

Loaves and Fishes is Tasmania’s free statewide emergency food relief provider. They rescue and redistribute surplus and donated food to supply food to more than 220 community partners as ready-to-eat meals, school breakfast supplies, made-to-order food hampers and fresh fruit and vegetables. Hill Street currently donates food to Loaves and Fishes to assist them meet the growing demand for their assistance.
