Deck the halls

It’s now December and it you haven’t already, now is the time to haul out the decorations and give your house some festive flair. Here are a few simple and inexpensive ways to lift your Christmas-décor game.

Baubles

If you want to update your look without breaking the bank, a few well-chosen new decorations, all within the same theme, are the way to go.  So adding half a dozen of our ballet mice and nutcracker baubles to your existing selection gives a fairytale vibe, or adding some cute Australiana baubles gives an Aussie-Christmas flavour.

Other themes we are seeing this year are natural/Scandinavian and nautical/beachside. Have a look at the ranges of baubles and decorations from Holly and Ivy, Pashom, and many more at your local Hill Street Home.

Candles

Candles immediately give a cosy, Christmassy feeling. We love Myrtle and Moss’ Fir, Pine and Spruce, and Sweet Orange, Nutmeg and Cinnamon candles which smell just like Christmas.

We have lots of other candles in-store at Hill Street Home from pillar candles for the middle of a festive centrepiece to tealight candles to give a magical sparkle to your décor.

Wreaths

Wreaths are a stunning feature either on your front door or front and centre in a prominent spot in your house, such as above a fireplace. They can be made of almost any green foliage and then themed any way you like. There are a few tricks of the trade to help your wreath last several weeks over the Christmas period, so make a booking here for our wreath making workshops and you’ll come home with a gorgeous wreath and the knowledge to make more.  Wreaths make a lovely gift for friends or family and if handmade by you, are even more special.

If you can’t make it to one of our wreath making workshops, head into our Hill Street Home and Flowers locations for bespoke wreaths made by our lovely florists.
