Strawberry Mule

Bright, fresh and super easy, this Strawberry Mule gets a sunny twist by using lemon instead of lime. The lemon lifts the sweetness of the strawberries beautifully, while ginger beer brings that classic spicy kick. It’s an ideal warm-weather cocktail and a real crowd-pleaser.

How long will it take?

10 minutes

What’s the serving size?

Serves 2

What do I need?

  • 8 fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • 90 mL vodka
  • 350 mL ginger beer, chilled
  • Ice cubes, to serve
  • Extra strawberries, to garnish
  • Extra lemon, to garnish

How do I make it?

  1. Add strawberries and lemon wedges to a jug or cocktail shaker and gently muddle until the fruit releases its juices.
  2. Take 2 glasses or copper mugs if you have them and pour 45 mL vodka into each.
  3. Fill glasses with ice cubes.
  4. Pour ginger beer into glasses and give a gentle stir to combine.
  5. Garnish with extra strawberries and lemon and serve immediately.

TOP TIPS

·       A strip of lemon peel muddled with the fruit adds extra citrus aroma.

·       If you’d prefer a lighter version, replace some of the ginger beer with soda water for a fresher, less sweet drink.

·       Save time by muddling the strawberries and lemon ahead of time and keep chilled, then just add the remaining ingredients just before serving.
