Your Footy Finals Menu

Are you a pie and sauce type of footy fan … or do you enjoy a gourmet cheese platter or perhaps a pulled pork slider? Whatever your taste, here’s some Grand Final Day inspiration for this weekend!

With the AFL Grand Final stopping the nation at 2.30 pm this coming Saturday, and the NRL final the following weekend, it’s time to get organised for your pre-game drinks and barbecue, or something tasty to eat while watching the games.

For pre-game drinks and nibbles, keep life simple and order from our range of platters, starting from $80. These are loaded up and generous. Choose a BBQ Chicken platter, a Specialty Cheese platter, a Mediterranean Feast platter or a Seafood Sensation platter. Match these with some chilled Tassie beers, a nice cold Tasmanian white wine, or if the weather turns cold and the fire is on, a good Tasmanian red. For specials on Tasmanian wine and beer including Ninth Island and Moo Brew, see our Weekly Specials Catalogue for details.

If you want to make up your own platters, we also have a range of antipasto, dips and cheeses on special too.

We have plenty for your barbecue from Walter and our team of butchers at Wursthaus in Cambridge – Tasmanian Cape Grim Steak Mince, Tasmanian Free-Range Grass-Fed Lamb Forequarter Chops, Angus Yearling Beef Rump Steak, Pork and Beef Sausages, and Chicken Breast Steaks, as well as delicious sauces from Johnno’s and Fancy Hank’s, are all on special this week.

And if you need tasty hand-held snacks during the game of course we have National Pies and Sausage Rolls, all on special, or you can go fancy and make your own gourmet Lamb Party Pies.

Other crowd pleasers are these sensational Pulled Pork Buns (the pork is slow-cooked so perhaps do that the night before), these Loaded Snags and Savs which will definitely get you into the footy spirit, or these quick and easy Mediterranean Rolls which are a nice twist on a traditional sausage roll.

Or make up a big batch of these Fully Loaded Nachos, which feature smoky charred corn, black beans, fresh tomato, lime, avocado and coriander, and or course loads of melted cheese – they’re a meal in themselves. And corn chips are on special this week too!

So whether or not your team has made the finals, make a day of it and enjoy some great food and drinks, with family and friends.
