Sneak Peak - Hill Street Devonport’s Producers’ Night
Here’s what you’ll be tasting on Friday 2 October… And our tip: come hungry, it’s going to be a Foodstravaganza!
We’re very excited about our Meet the Producer Night at Hill Street Devonport on Friday 2 October from 2.00 - 6.00 pm. It’s going to be an extra special one because it’s part of Hill Street Devonport’s 10th Birthday Celebrations.
Supporting our local growers and makers is what Hill Street has always been about. Our Meet the Producer Nights are a chance for you to come along and meet the farmers, makers and growers who supply our stores. You’ll enjoy free tastings and maybe discover your new favourite products!
We’re also thrilled to be having Joshy’s BBQ Food Truck on site. Joshy will be set up and selling his delicious BBQ meats, burgers and tacos all loaded with pulled pork, brisket and more!
And here’s just a sample of what you’ll be tasting from our Producers:
- A preview of our Christmas range for this coming Christmas from our team at Wursthaus in Cambridge, as well as some of the other delicious delicatessen and charcuterie products we make there. Our own Head of Production Walter Dowling will be on hand to tell you all about these lovingly hand-made dishes and products and let you sample his wares.
- Joshy’s BBQ’s meat rubs and sauces, which we now stock at Hill Street so you can recreate Joshy’s ‘Food for Dudes’ at home.
- Coffee roasted by Gavin and Laura Stoessiger of Leaping Goat from Quoiba.
- Delicious local seafood from the team at Mures.
- Delicious, award-winning cheeses from Tassie dairy superstars Ashgrove Cheese in Elizabeth Town.
- Your favourite jams and relishes from Rocky Gardens, Tim and Alison Mason’s small batch jam and relish business at Shearwater.
- Award winning olive oil from Wattle Hill Olives, a family-owned olive grove at Latrobe run by locals Emily and Trish Davies, and Coen Critchely.
- Delectable chocolates from Tasmania chocolatiers Dimitri and Jae Smet of Lakker in Rokeby, Southern Tasmania.
- Island Harvest’s famous Panna Cotta, made in Cambridge, Southern Tasmania.
- Refreshments from the team at Juicy Isle who’ll be showing off their range of quenching juices, mineral waters and sparkling apple, raspberry, blackcurrant and ginger beer.
- Sauces and relishes from the original Tassie sauce master, Johnno’s Tasmania.
- Moreish leatherwood honey, pistachio and raspberry nougat from Luca Nougat in Westbury.
- Munchy nuts and treats from The Market Grocer.
- Tasmanian Cheesery’s award winning bries, accompanied by Tasmanian Kitchen Pantry quince and sloe pastes.
- Delectable dips and sauces from Ruffled Feathers & Co.
We’ll also be drawing the winner of our Decade of Devonport Hamper on the night too!
