A customer recently asked Natalia whether she had had something to do with the new range of good quality baby food we have on the shelf. Yes, Natalia admitted, she has a vested interest in bringing the range in, as baby Sophia has graduated to solid food and is enjoying a variety of nutritious products from the Holle range, which is 100 per cent organic and includes formulas, cereals and porridges, and a jar range.

The formulas include organic infant and follow-on formula which is cow-milk based, as well as a unique product which is made from goat milk. Infant Goat Milk Formula is suitable for babies from 6 months and is ideal for those who have been breastfeeding and do not want to introduce a cow-milk formula at this stage. Goat milk is easily digestible and has been shown to cause less allergies and assist in the reduction of asthma and eczema in babies.

The porridge range includes rice porridge and millet porridge for babies just starting solids, and for older babies, there is 3 grain porridge (oats, barley and spelt), rolled oats, semolina porridge and baby museli porridge, which contains oats, spelt, apple and sesame. The nice thing about the porridges and museli is that Holle have used oats and ancient grains like spelt and millet, which are highly nutritious and also allow you to avoid wheat if you wish.

The organic baby meal range includes lots of varieties of organic fruit and vegetables. These are pasteursied at 70C which helps them to retain their natural colour and vital nutrients. They contain no colours, flavours, binding agents, lactose, yeast, eggs or preservatives and are all GM free. A number of the varieties are gluten free.

It’s common in Europe to give babies camomile tea to help settle them but Holle baby tea is the first of its kind in Australia. Recommended for helping settle babies and to relieve the symptoms of teething and colic, it is made of camomile, fennel, aniseed and caraway and is suitable for babies from two weeks of age. It’s also good for breastfeeding mothers.

Holle Zwieback Spelt Rusks are a great snack for babies from six months. They are made from spelt flour which can generally be tolerated better by those who are wheat sensitive. They are sugar, egg and dairy free.

There’s nothing softer than a baby’s bottom, and using wipes with perfumes and alcohol can irritate sensitive skin. We have sourced Tushies unscented alcohol-free wipes. They are hypo-allergenic and contain aloe vera and vitamin E to moisturise and soften your baby’s skin.
