If you need more spice in your life, try these two new products. Island Curries are fresh curry pastes made in Tasmania and are preservative, MSG and additive free. Packaged in a handy 100g sachet, which is enough for a few curries, you don’t end up with large jars of opened and half used curry paste in your fridge well past their use by dates. There are four different varieties, suitable for lamb, beef, vegetable and chicken curries, with a simple recipe on the back. Nice and Spicy provides a unique package of three or four spices with which you can make biriyani, balti chicken, masala curry or tandoori chicken. Just follow the step-by-step recipe on the back, add the spices and you have an authentic, tasty curry.

Due to popular demand we have increased our range of Laucke Flour bread mixes. We now stock golden wholemeal, German grain mix, soy and linseed and crusty white. Each packet is enough for four big loaves, and the mixes contain no preservatives and are fortified with selenium.

Diabetics and those watching their sugar intake will be excited about our new low-sugar chocolates. Cocoa Farm makes roasted hazelnut and coffee, mango lime and chilli, and merlot chocolate – which is filled with raisins soaked in merlot. It is diabetic-friendly with only 8.2% natural sugar, a low GI and 72 per cent less carbohydrates than regular chocolate. Well, Naturally’s low-sugar milk chocolate contains 92 per cent less sugar than regular milk chocolate and their sugar-free dark chocolate contains less than 0.2g sugar per 100g.

Our executive chef Phil Harrison continues to create delicious new products that he brings to the office and insists we sample. New on the shelf after our rigorous taste-testing are the Hill Street chicken liver parfait (watch out for the handsome chickens on the packaging) and Hill Street tomato chutney. In a few weeks we will have a heated section in our deli from which we will be serving some of your favourite dishes, such as moussaka and pastitsio, hot rather than cold, as well as new dishes such as roast beef, potatoes and Middle-Eastern-influenced lamb and couscous. In the cake section Phil’s chocolate macadamia tart, frangipane tart, chocolate truffle friands and orange almond friands are all delicious new additions to our cake range. Phil has also put together a new catering menu, so if you have a forthcoming function please have a what with Phil to see what he can put together for you.
