Delicious with vanilla or chocolate ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 6 Beurre Bosc pears
  • 150 grams Amaretti biscuits, crushed
  • 60 grams butter, softened (not melted)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 100 grams flaked almonds
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 extra tablespoon butter
  • ½ cup orange juice

Method
Preheat the oven to 200C. Cut the pears in half and place, cut side up, in a greased pie plate. Pour the orange juice over the pears. Cover the dish with foil and cook for about 25 minutes.

Remove the pears from the oven and uncover. Combine the remaining ingredients and spread onto the top of the pears and press down firmly.

Return to the oven and cook for another 10-15 minutes until the topping turns a light brown.
